The ABPAU Association promotes audiovisual codes of ethics. It develops protocols and organizes dissemination events.

ABPAU OBJECTIVES

In 2016, the Association for Best Practices in Audiovisual (ABPAU) was founded by Assumpta Serna and Scott Cleverdon. Its objectives are:

  1. Promote best practices in the audiovisual sector through protocols and audiovisual codes of ethics.
  2. Publish books related to the audiovisual sector that maintain ethical values.
  3. Training for all professionals in any audiovisual sector in audiovisual protocols and codes of ethics.
  4. To link audiovisual techniques to the development and empowerment of different social groups in today’s society.
  5. Encourage all audiovisual collectives to create Codes of Good Practices, both for the entity and applicable to the entire sector.
  6. Use of audiovisual techniques as an integrating element of the society.

ACTIVITIES

In 2021, the partnership with the Family of Cinema Community, through its ethics committee, carried out the following activities:

  1. Drafting of Codes and Protocols of Best Practices
  2. Creation or presentation at conferences and discussions of Codes of Good Practice
  3. Creation and implementation of the ethical seal on films and series
  4. Audiovisual and ethics training workshops for various groups
  5. Engagement in cultural and social forums to promote and share best practices.

ABPAU

The Board of Directors is formed by a President (Assumpta Serna), Vice President (Scott Cleverdon), Secretary (Marta Burgos) and Vocal member (Francesc Albiol).

The Association has 760 members who support the proposal of the CBPAA (Code of Best Practices for Actors in the Audiovisual Industry) on change.org.

And of 257 professionals who support the 2024 proposal for the Code of Ethics for the audiovisual industry (CBPA) on change.org.
